우리같은 한국 엄마들 다 그렇게 살아왔지.
이렇게 나이들어도 "저 여자는 늘 여성"이란 말 듣고 싶은 생각이
모든 여자들의 똑같은 바램일거야. 나 역시 그렇고.
우리 올해는 그런 말 많이 듣는 멋진 한해가 되었으면 좋겠다.
난 요즘 우리 아들들에게 핀잔을 많이 듣는단다.

좋게 봐주면 자기주장대로 살지만 여성스러움을 잃지 않은 여자를 말하기도 하고---
자신을 가꿀줄도 알고 자신이 시간에 끌려가는 게 아니라
시간보다 항상 앞서서 일을 주장하기도 하고---
바쁘다는 핑게로 시간에 쫓겨다니듯 산 나를 돌아보게 만드는구나
요즘 미국친구들이 보는 책중에 제목이 눈에 띄는 표지가 있던데

어때 멋있지?
여자는 여성스럽게 남자는 잰틀하게 행동하지만
생각은 크고 넓게 하라는 의미일거야
Billy Joel이 생각보다 나이들어 보이네
내가 들었던 노래는 젊었을 때 부른 곡인가 보다.
아이고! 내가 무슨 소릴 하는지 모르겠네,내 나이는 어떻고?

오늘 차를 타고 가다가 이 노래를 들었는데 가사가 기가 막히더군---
노래처럼 살지 못하고
